Nikel Cosmetics Review

Today I will be reviewing Nikel Cosmetics, Siobhan from Sugar&Spice  has been done quite a few reviews on Nikel Cosmetics range and I have been very intrigued. The brand is an award-winning Croatian beauty brand. Nikel Cosmetics is the brainchild of well-known pharmacist Mirjana Brlečić, the brand focuses on luxurious products that work to improve your skin.

Let me just put my hand up and confess I am very intrigued with beauty products from other countries, but lucky for all of us Nikel Cosmetics is now available in South Africa and you do not have to go through the pain to order from overseas.

I and was very excited when the Nikel Cosmetic PR company reached out to me to review two of the products in the range. Let me confess I could not wait to receive my parcel as winter was knocking and my skin was in desperate need of some help. My skin care is one of the most important steps for me, my 47 old skin needs all the help it can get in the winter let’s be honest no matter the age whose doesn’t? My parcel arrived on the 14 May 2019 and I started with the range on the 15 May 2019.

About Nikel Cosmetics

Priroda liječi (“nature cures”), the company that produces the Nikel Cosmetics range, was established in 1995 by Master of Pharmacy, Ms Mirjana Brlečić, in the heart of beautiful Zagreb, Croatia. In 2004, her vision of having a natural, pharmaceutical cosmetic line came to life. Nikel Cosmetics has won countless awards for its innovative formulas which include plant extracts and essential oils that work from the inside out, improving the quality of the skin over a long-term basis.

  • The range is suitable for all ages and caters for all different skin types.
  • Product is not tested on animals.

I received two items to try and share my experience. The Nikel Cosmetics Cleansing Milk and NikelNutris Face Cream. I incorporated both the products into my everyday skincare routine.

I have to confess I instantly fell head over heels in love with the packaging when I opened the box. It is beautiful and looks amazing on my vanity.  The moisturizer is a transparent cube resembles an ice cube and the cleanser is a beautiful sleek white bottle.

Nikel Cosmetics Cleansing Milk

“The Nikel Cleansing Milk with Immortelle has a lightweight, no-rinse formula with a fresh, non-overpowering scent”

I was hesitant with the no-rinse formula but decided to give it a try because that why you are here. I review so that it is easier for my readers to make a decision before purchasing. My hesitation mainly due to the amount of makeup I use, my normal skin care routine is to double cleanse in the evening. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I only used the cleanser at first it removed all my makeup imagine that! I changed my routine and included this cleanser as my second step in the evening cleanse leaving my skin feeling soft and not stripped, the cleanser does not contain alcohol and is mineral oil-free which normally leaves my skin dry.

My morning routine I used my micellar water to clean my eyes as I have lash extensions and then I used the Nikel Cosmetic Cleansing Milk without having to rinse my face and it felt soft and thoroughly cleaned ready for the day.

Ingredients Cleansing Milk

    • Shea butter / Butyrospermium Parkii
    • Almond / Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis oil
    • Sunflower / Helianthus Annuus Seed oil
    • Chamomile / Chamomilla Recutita Extract
    • Sweet orange / Citrus Aurantium Dulcis oil
    • Immortelle / Helichrysum Italicum Flower Oil

NikelNutris Face Cream

When I opened the NikelNutris Face Cream, I was surprised at how thick and rich the face cream appeared. I was concerned that it might possibly be too rich for my skin even though my skin is dry like the Sahara desert. I started with only use a pea size of the face cream as it is very rich, I warmed the cream up between my fingers and the face cream feels like it has tiny pearls in the formula. When I applied the face cream to my face I could not feel any texture and it left my skin soft, smooth and hydrated. After two weeks of using the face cream, my skin felt more moisturised and hydrated.

Ingredients Face Cream

    • Jojoba / Simmondsia Chinensis Seed oil
    • Almond / Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis oil
    • Olive / Olea Europaea oil
    • Sunflower / Helianthus Annuus Seed oil
    • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract
    • John’s wort / Hypericum Perforatum Extract
    • Passionflower / Passiflora Incarnata Seed oil
    • Vitamin E / Tocopherol
    • Sweet orange / Citrus Aurantium Dulcis oil
    • Chamomile / Chamomilla Recutita Extract
    • Mandarin orange / Citrus Nobilis oil
    • Immortelle / Helichrysum Italicum Flower oil
    • Myrtle / Myrtus Communis Oil

Final Thought

I fell in love with this combo it is definitely just what my skin needed this winter and will definitely be repurchasing the range and would recommend it in a heartbeat. I have been doing some research on other products in the range and will be adding the Nikel Alpine Rose Stem Cell Tonic and the Nikel Evening Primrose Oil to my skincare range. Rumour has it that they will provide ultimate nourishment to the skin for life below the equator.

The NikelNutris Face Cream retails for about R995 while the Cleansing Milk around R479.
