I was privileged to be invited to the Burt’s Bees Launch in South Africa. I was very excited as this brand has always been on my wishlist but I could not justify ordering from the US and paying for shipping.
About the Brand
Burt’s Bees is True to Nature. In 1984 Roxanne Quimby used leftover beeswax from Burt Shavitz’s honey to make candles and Burt’s Bees was born. In 1991 Roxanne perfected a recipe she found in a 19th Century farmer’s journal and the lip balm was added and became their best seller and still is.
Burt’s Bees source their ingredients from nature and their products have never been tested on animals – each one of their products are consciously-crafted to bring out the best in you while respecting the planet.
Burt’s Bees sent zero waste to landfill – which you have to agree is an amazing achievement. They turn their waste by-products into biomass-based fuels, electricity, and even cement.
Burt’s Bees® Classic Lip Balm
The original Burt’s Bees Lip Balm is still a cult favourite. It will wake your lips with a fresh burst of Peppermint Oil. Beeswax is used to condition the lips while it containing rich antioxidant with Vitamin E. Which will leave your lip smooth, supple.
I absolutely love the Burt’s Bees products that I received as a gift the day of the media launch. It is currently the only lip balm that I reach for. Not that I expected anything different. I love the way it makes my lips feel and the most important point is I don’t feel like I need to continue applying it. I find with the traditional lip balms that I have used leave my lip feeling dry.
Currently, they are available on Takealot and rolling out to national major pharmacies shortly so keep an eye out. I will update my post as soon as I see them in stores.
